Chance Oil and Gas

Well Maintenance Project

Chance has plans to undertake a maintenance program to assess the condition of eight existing wells that are currently suspended safely and securely. The assessment program will include remediation work for any wells that require fixing or are scheduled for abandonment.  Short duration flow testing is planned to investigate the natural gas resource potential from some of these existing wells.

This project will be a winter-only activity and will require reopening historically used trails and well sites as well as building an airstrip of about 1,500 metres in length adjacent to one of the access trails.

Depending on several factors, including the availability of oil field services from Alberta, snow conditions at the time that activation decisions need to be made and whether other prerequisite conditions are satisfied, this project could occur as early as the winter of 2024-2025.
